4 Simple Ways to CAPTURE Your Target Audience Using Social Media

4 Simple Ways to CAPTURE Your Target Audience Using Social Media

4 Tips On Capturing Your Market

When a small business sets out to grow its visibility online, it’s always good to have a plan in place. The plan should be simple, strategic and well researched. In a recent survey by Manta of 600 small business owners across the United States: 90% of them said that they are actively engaged in social networking sites and 74% felt that social networking online was very valuable and that it was starting to out-weigh networking in-person.

The BIG question is how can you reach your target customers online?

Here are 4 simple tips:
#1 Start listening and find out what your target customers need regarding products and services. Spend an hour every day going to online groups or forums where your target market is spending time. For example, if you are a real-estate agent you should join groups where people are talking about home improvement, home décor or real estate investing. See what kinds of questions they are asking so you can provide a response.

#2 Actively engage your target customers by asking questions on social media networks. Don’t just push your message out, live it by interacting with your customers.

#3 Connect with your target customers by hosting offline meet-ups, or online hangouts – check out Google hangouts. It’s free and easy to use.

#4 Share your knowledge – sharing is very important to growing your visibility on social media because it allows you to GIVE to your customers and draw them in and create a connection.

3 Top Challenges Fashion Designers Face and

How to Overcome Them

One of the most common questions I get asked from design students who have just graduated or professionals looking for a career change is “how hard is it to start a fashion design business?”.

So, today I’ll share the Top 3 Business Challenges Fashion Designers Face and How to Overcome Them.

#1 Challenge – Being Too Passionate And Too Passive

Be a CEO first and a fashion designer second. When your first starting out, there is no doubt that your passion is the driving force of your company. But, to be successful you must be honest and know what you don’t know and do what you LOVE. Be honest, be clear and take action!

#2 Challenge – Not Having a Business Model or Business Plan That Actually works. It may take months or years to write a business plan for a bank or an investor but how about creating a business plan that you can actually follow.

TIP- Consider creating a business advisory board to help you in the areas that you are not great at.

The advisory board should include:

1. Accountant

2. Attorney

3. Social Media Marketing Expert

4. Business Coach – to help you stay focused and hold you accountable.

#3 Challenge – Being Present at All Times

This is a BIG one for most designers, especially with your clients. Creating a social media plan that helps to keep your clients on top of what your doing will create a sense of inclusion. Use Facebook and twitter to help keep your fans updated on your upcoming shows, special events, fundraisers and hot trends.

6 Issues Small Businesses Will Face in 2014

6 Issues Small Businesses Will Face in 2014

6 Small Business Issues for 2014

 1. Content Marketing Dominates - To position your business as an expert resource, you need to create content that speaks to your audience, helping them determine the best route to take. What this means for small businesses is that you need to have a blog if you don’t already have one and you must keep adding new, fresh content regularly. Blogs convert readers into buyers. 42% of consumers look to blogs for information about potential purchases; 52% say blogs have impacted their purchase decisions. According to Hubspot’s 2013 State of Inbound Marketing, almost 80% of marketers with a company blog have acquired new customers.

2. Integrated Marketing Plan - Now with all the varying online activities – email marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, mobile marketing, search marketing – you need one place where you define what you will be doing and in what time frame.

3. Mobile - If your company hasn’t gone mobile yet, 2014 is the time to do so. More and more customers are relying on their mobile devices for research and purchasing; failing to accommodate that could ultimately lead to failure of your business.

4. Innovation - Just keeping your head above water is tough for many small businesses, but you also need to find the time and budget to innovate new products and services as well as new marketing strategies. How will you balance your current offering with innovation in 2014?

5. Time - Time is a constant struggle for small business owners. You need time to operate your business, time for friends and family, and time for you. Find your “me” time in 2014 by developing a strategic approach to overcoming the year’s challenges.

6. Simplicity in Marketing - Buyers are looking for trustworthy information that helps them easily and efficiently weigh their purchase options. Too many options and messages can paralyze decision making, encouraging the buyer to look at your competitors.

Keep your marketing simple. It will help both you and your prospective customer.
